This was the first lesson back after the summer holidays. During this lesson we spoke about what we are going to do over these few weeks and this year in A2.
I found out we are going to look mainly at national cinema, television representation and magazines & gender. We then focused on British films such as Bend it like Beckham, Trainspotting and St Trinians, talking about the ways in which culture and iconic 'British' features.
I also learnt about the BFI (British Film Institute) focusing on the catagories in which 'British' films fit in to. This was very interesting as i didnt know that there were different catagories for similar genre films.
Our homework this week is to go on the IMBD website, find 10 British films and work out what catagory they fit into, also looking at the budgets of the film and the directors and editors who made the film.
