We watched the begining of another Richard Curtis film during the lesson, it was the very famous 'Notting Hill'.
Hugh Grant played a character in this film just like he did in the other Richard Curtis film Four Weddings.
We looked at how British males and Britain iteself are represented, using the mise en scene, their speech and the way they act towards others.
This was a good film to use when looking at representation of the British male as there are two main male characters who are completely opposite. One man (William played by Hugh Grant) is sanitised, well dressed, knows how to charm the ladies and has a proper 'British' accent as he is well spoken wuite gentlemanly.
Wheres his flat mate on the other hand is extremly messy, dirty, smokes, drinks, swears and is quite slob-ish. Therefore showing the differences of males in Britain.
