Wednesday 23rd September

We looked at the represenatation of Britain and the British industry of male and females again today, but we watched another popular, well- known Richard Curtis film called Bridget Jones' Diary. Again Hugh Grnt is an actor in this film, showing just how often Richard Curtis likes to use familiar actors within his films.
This film represented London as very busy and a popular place sing the iconic images of London make it also instantly recognisable to the audience.
Bridget the main character shows the 'British female' as rather well spoken women who like to smoke, drink and fall in love quickly and who also has frequent relationship trouble.

We also got our essay question we have to write which is..

'Using Notting Hill, Bridget Jones' Diary and Four Weddings and a Funeral as a refrence, what values and ideologies does Working titles London convey?

We are going to all write this essay for our homework.
